All things before the last week of school!

Good Evening,

It has been a wonderful week with lots of learning, practising, fun things and lots of new things. We welcome a new assistant to our class! Here is a quick run down of what has been happening in 1A this week!

Language Arts- we are working on adding details to our writing and have written wonderful letter to Santa. Please check our our bulletin board for the letters we hope santa will have time to read! ;-)

Math- we are learning what halves and quarter are and have reviewed our left and right! we had fun and found it challenging.

Social Studies- we have been talking about rules and will continue to do so in the new year! We have also been working on our dance... we look forward to lots of shiny happy people for our Christmas Party on the 12th, Thursday!

Science- Plants! Plants! Plants! we love learning about plants and we have had a wonderful time discussing as well as experimenting what the job of the stems are! Our plants are growing wonderfully!

We had our Assembly this week, and we had 2 of our girls get apples for being reflective!

And finally! we met with Santa. He spent all day on Friday visiting with us and we were lucky to get pictures with us. We hope he had time to visit our class bulletin board and check out our letter to him.

We look forward to our class party! Thursday 12th outside Grade 1A and B 11:30-1:00pm!

Meeting with Santa!

We met with Santa. He spent all day on Friday visiting with us and we were lucky to get pictures with us. We hope he had time to visit our class bulletin board and check out our letter to him.

Candle Making

We made candles and we heard the story of Chanukah. Thank you Moms for coming in and helping with that wonderful activity. I hope you all enjoyed the candles your children brought home on Friday!

Newsletter and Calendar!

The last calendar and newsletter for the year 2013 have been posted - please go to the tab that has calendar and newsletter to view them. We will also send home a copy of the newsletter tomorrow.

Activity- Candle Making

On monday, we are learning about Chanukah and are making candles.

We will need your help with them, if you have any old tins (baked beans, soup cans, fruit cans) please send them in with your children so that we may use them as we make candles.

We will make our candles after lunch- if moms would like to join us and help us out, please send me and email and we will be very very happy to have you with us.
